The Commision function is to perform an expert-examination of predictable disability and disability:
- for a citizen of Latvia;
- for a non-citizen of Latvia;
- to a citizen of the European Union, a country of the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation or a member of his family who is legally staying in the Republic of Latvia;
- to a foreigner who has received a permanent residence permit in the Republic of Latvia;
- to a person who has received a permanent residence permit due to the granting of refugee status in the Republic of Latvia, or a family member of the said person who has a permanent residence permit in the Republic of Latvia;
- to a person who has been issued a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Latvia, if:
- as a socially insured person is entitled to social insurance services;
- it has been granted alternative status in the Republic of Latvia;
- it is a family member of a person who has obtained alternative status;
- it has been granted temporary protection status in the Republic of Latvia;
- it has been granted a temporary residence permit in connection with conducting scientific activities in the Republic of Latvia;
- has been granted the status of a victim of human trafficking in the Republic of Latvia.
